Powder Extinguishers
Class AClass BClass CLive Electrical Equipment

Suitable for use on all types of fires (except flammable metals such as sodium, magnesium and lithium where special units and staff training are required.)

Whilst powder extinguishers are suitable for use on all fires, certain limitations need to be taken into account. Powder has no cooling ability so “Class A” type fires (wood, paper, textiles etc.) could re-ignite.

It is important to note that when dealing with gaseous fires, priority is given to turning off the gas supply to avoid a potentially explosive situation.

The use of powder extinguishers is not recommended where its discharge could restrict the evacuation of large numbers of people, such as in schools and hospitals.

Powder is best at putting out fires involving burning liquid spillages and is safe on live electrical equipment up to 1000 volts.

Available sizes: 9kg, 6kg, 4kg, 2kg and 1kg.
