Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Extinguishers
Suitable for use on fires involving live electrical equipment such as computers, photocopiers, industrial machinery etc. Can also be used for small quantities of burning liquids.
Carbon dioxide displaces the oxygen thereby starving the fire of one of its three essential elements. Carbon dioxide is stored in the extinguisher as a liquid and changes to a gas upon discharge leaving no residue.
Carbon dioxide extinguishers should not be used in confined areas but use in normal office / factory situations should not cause problems.
It is important to note that the discharge horn of a carbon dioxide extinguisher gets very cold during use and should not be held as freeze burns could develop. However “safe to hold, frost-free” horns are now available as an optional extra on all 2kg sizes.
We now supply all 2kg CO2 extinguishers with frost-free horns.
